Let's get physical! Shake your groove thang! Shut up and dance with me! "Jazz Dance for Burlesque" is a fast, fun, dance class that builds on the concepts of a basic jazz dance class, but gives the next step up focusing on technique, stage performance, and adds in elements of burlesque vocabulary. Dancers will actively participate in stretching exercises, a choreographed warm-up, strength and core work, learn a final combination and will be expected to create a short set of their own choreography as a part of a group exercise. Jazz Dance for Burlesque is open to performers of all levels, but is geared towards beginner and intermediate performers. Drop-ins are welcome! Dancers should come prepared to move, wearing dance appropriate clothing and flexible footwear.

Bazuka Joe is one third of The Stage Door Johnnies from Chicago, named Burlesque Hall of Fame "Best Group 2011". Bazuka headlines and tours throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe and has been listed in the Top 50 Burlesque Performers in the world for 7 years consecutively. Trained in contemporary, classical, and jazz dance, theater, and vault staff he is a seasoned teacher and instructor with more than fifteen years of experience teaching and directing at a professional level. Before entering the world of burlesque and cabaret, Bazuka served as Artistic Director for Open House Dance Company and choreographed/performed in the iconic indie film "Were the World Mine".
